Our apartments / Our areas, city / Kurland

Kurland is centrally located to say the least, being opposite Adolf Fredrik Church and one block from the shopping street of Drottninggatan. Hötorget is just a couple of blocks away, with its market square, 14-screen cinema and a plethora of eateries and shops. If you take a walk in the opposite direction, you’ll come to the Stockholm School of Economics and Stockholm Public Library.

Not surprising, there are long waiting lists for accommodation at Kurland. Those fortunate enough to live here do so either in collective apartments, sharing a kitchen, dining room and bathroom with other residents, or in one of the spacious apartments which are ideal for sharing with a partner or friend. Neither Kammarkargatan nor Holländargatan are particularly busy, so although Kurland is in the heart of the city it is relatively quiet.

There are also green spaces nearby. It’s worth the strenuous climb up Observatorielunden hill to take in the magnificent views. The observatory is open to the public, allowing you to watch the stars and planets on certain evenings through a telescope dating back to 1910.

SSSB are building 21 new student homes at Kurland
SSSB is pleased to announce that we have started the building of 21 new student homes at Kurland. The homes will be built in the premises earlier used by the voluntary organization Ny Gemenskap. The new student homes are expected to be ready for occupancy in June 2013.
