Q&A:s about broadband

How do I connect?

You can activate your broadband once you have moved into your new home. This is done via a portal that can only be accessed from the broadband socket you wish to activate. The portal appears automatically the first time you open your web-browser after connecting your network cable in the new apartment.

Please note!

  1. The activation portal is only available in Swedish but Tele2 has done a manual to make the activation easier. Download the manual for Tele2's activation portal »
  2. To be able to use the activation portal you need a Swedish Social Security Number ("personnummer"). If you don't have that you need to activate your new broadband by calling Tele2's Customer Service on 0772-25 25 25.
  3. The Tele2 Customer Service's interactive voice response is only available in Swedish. You can download instructions on which button to press to be put through to the right agent. Download the manual »

Only tenant #1 (the main tenant) may sign an agreement with Tele2. If you do not have a valid rental agreement with SSSB (e.g. you are subletting), you will not be able to use the broadband connection via Tele2 at the favourable price offered by SSSB.

What is the transfer rate within SSSB properties and to the Internet in general?

During the autumn 2010 we upgraded your broadband connection to a browsing speed of 100/10 Mbit/s.

Speeds are shown as ranges, from the minimum to the maximum possible speed for downloading and uploading. 100/10 shows the different speeds for downloads and uploads. The reason why Tele2 specifies a range is that the exact speed depends on a number of factors: the settings on the computer and/or whether any other equipment is connected between the computer and the port, thereby limiting the capacity. If the activation portal doesn't show when you open your web-browser for the first time in your new apartment please contact Tele2's Customer Service as the reason for this might be that the former tenant hasn't cancelled the agreement with Tele2.

What do I do if I want to connect more than one computer to the broadband socket?

The best thing to do is to use a broadband router.

Do I need a log-in function?

No, as soon as you receive your subscription details from Tele2, you can start using the broadband network.

Will traffic be screened through a screening router/proxy or some other security function?

Traffic flows will be controlled to a certain extent. FTP server and webserver services are for example forbidden and abuse may result in criminal charges.

Are IP addresses dynamic or fixed?

Dynamic (DHCP) with long-time distribution, using public IP addresses.
