Here you will find the answers to the most common questions if you are looking for accommodation.
I have received my letter of acceptance, when can I apply for accommodation?
You can start applying when you have received your letter of acceptance to a program that awards at least 15 ECTS or equivalent per semester at a University in Stockholm, whose Student Union is affiliated to SSCO (The Federation of Student Unions in Stockholm). Your Student Union membership can only be registered after your semester has started. Summer courses do not count. Please note! If you are going to start studying during the autumn semester, you can only book accommodations with moving in date August 1 or later.
How do I apply for accommodation?
How long do I have to queue to get accommodation?
It depends on the type of accommodation and housing area you are interested in. You can find more information and statistics on each area here.
If I do not have enough credits, what other alternatives are there?
You have to actively look for available accommodations on our webpage. Another recommendation is to take a look at Stockholms stads bostadsförmedling. If you want to sublet, a good option then is to look at “Akademisk kvart” which is a subletting intermediary agency aimed for students.
I am already an active student, what about me?
If you’re already an active student and your Student Union membership expires during the summer, you can apply for an accommodation once our system has registered your membership for the autumn semester 2018. For questions regarding your Student Union membership, please contact your Student Union.
