Apply for a home

On My pages, you apply for the homes you wish to rent. We publish our vacant homes here on sssb.se a few times a week.

Remember that you must fulfil these requirements in order to sign a tenancy agreement.

» New student

    • You must have received you letter of acceptance to a programme that awards at least 15 higher education credits (HECs) per term at a university or university college in Stockholm, whose student union is affiliated to the Federation of Student Unions in Stockholm (SSCO). Your student union membership does not apply until the start of term (summer programmes do not count).

Please note! If you’re going to start studying during the autumn semester, you can only book accommodations with moving in day 1 of August or later. If you’re going to start studying during the spring semester, you can only book accommodations with moving in day 1 of January or later.

» Active student

  • You are already studying and have obtained at least 15 HECs/term (or equivalent) at a university or university college in Stockholm whose student union is affiliated to the Federation of Student Unions in Stockholm (SSCO).
  • You must be a member of a student union that is affiliated to the SSCO.

» How do I apply for a home?

Remember the following when you apply for a home.

  • You can apply for a maximum of three homes at a time.
  • You cannot prioritise your bookings.
  • Even if you have applied for more than one home, you will only be offered one of them. It is the system that determines which one you get.
  • The advertisement tells you how long the application period is. You can delete an application as long as the application period has not come to an end. We cannot delete or change applications you have made.
  • If you apply for a multi-room student apartment, you must have a co-tenant whom you can include on the tenancy agreement. If you are a single parent (and are the child’s guardian), you can apply for a multi-room student apartment.

For different types of home, see Renting from us.

» When can I not apply for a home?

You will be blocked from applying for homes when you.

  • Sign a tenancy agreement (after the day you sign the agreement and until three months after you move in).
  • Given notice of termination on your tenancy (during the period of notice and three months after you move out).
  • Had your tenancy agreement terminated by Stockholms studentbostäder, e.g. if you fail a tenancy assessment (during the period of notice and six months after you move out).
  • Have an unsettled debt with Stockholms studentbostäder (until the debt is settled).
  • Have two unsettled debts within a six-month period (six months from when the last debt is settled).
  • If you have not conducted yourself properly when you were a Stockholms studentbostäder tenant before.

About Stockholms studentbostäder

Stockholms studenbostäder was founded 60 years ago by students who wanted to do something about the housing shortage in Stockholm. Today, we are the largest in student housing in Sweden with about 8,000 rooms and apartments in Stockholm, Solna, Nacka and Huddinge. Back then, just like today, it is the students’ needs and dedication that is the core of our business. All our achievements, we have to thank generations of students who develop and drive us forward.
