Help us to prevent fire during summer
During summer the weather is warm and dry, therefore it is especially important to think about fire safety. Here are some tips.
Use the grill areas in our neighborhoods
Only use the grill areas in our areas if you want to grill. This applies provided that there is no fire ban. Also make sure that the fire is properly put out before leaving the grill area.
Put out cigarettes properly
Be sure to put out cigarettes properly.
Never leave candles unattended
Only use safe light holders and beware of your surroundings, like curtains, blankets etc. Always put out your candles when you leave the room, including tealights. This also applies to candles on balconies.
Never leave the stove unattended
A forgotten pot can easily catch fire. Do not leave the stove unattended and always turn off the stove when you have used it. Keep the hood filters clean. Grease in the hood can easily catch fire, and the fire may spread further through the ventilation in the house
If a fire starts in a pan, try to get a cap on as quickly as possible to smother the fire. Never pour water on a burning stove.
Test your fire alarm
Test your fire alarm so it works. Press the test button, if there is a beep, it works. If there is no beep, or of it beeps frequently, change the battery or contact your House Caretaker.
