Refurbishment of kitchens in the family houses at Professorsslingan
Stockholm studentbostäder began extensive renovation of kitchens in Lappkärrsberget during 2017 which will take place over a number of years.
It is now the turn of Professorsslingan 31, 33, 43, 45 where we will begin renovating the kitchens in January 2018.
In the stairwell you will find information when it is time for your apartment.
A kitchen takes about two weeks to replace, and you will be able to stay in your housing during this time.
Keep in mind that the timeplan can be changed during the refurbishment.

During the time the renovation takes place you will be given a “mobile kitchen” (microwave and hot plate) to use in your apartment. The refrigerator will be put in a suitable area in your apartment.
You will get more detailed information about when your kitchen will be renovated in your letterbox about one month before the work is due to start.
Access to your housing and disruption
During the renovation the contractor will use a master key to carry out work in your housing. Normal working hours are 7.00 to 17.00, and noisy, disruptive works may take place from 8.00 to 16.00. Work will not take place in apartments before 8.00 in the morning.
For the time it takes to renovate your kitchen, your basic rent (not including broadband, etc.) will be reduced by 40%. This reduction will be backdated and applied to the monthly rent you pay when the renovation is done. This compensation was set in the new agreement with Stockholm Studenthyresgästers Förening, SSF, (Stockholm’s Student Tenant Association).
You will get a new, modern kitchen
The renovation includes new flooring in the kitchen area, painted walls and ceiling, new top and bottom cabinets, new worktops, a new sink unit and mixers, a new fridge-freezer, new worktop lighting with electrical socket and a stove with oven. We also change the front door to a security door.
The stove in your new kitchen is an induction cooker which means that pots and pans of, for example, aluminum will not work.
The fact that we have chosen induction cooker is because it takes less energy, which is important to us as a landlord. The cooker is also safer from the fire point of view, if there is nothing on the plate, the plate will turn off.
If you have many pots or pans of the type that do not work, you can buy an induction disc that you put between the pan or the pot and the stove.
As property owner, we have to carry out renovation work to keep our properties in good condition and give our tenants a good standard of housing. A kitchen renovation is classed as a standard-raising measure, which means the rent will be increased.
The increase will come into effect three months after the kitchen has been renovated. The increase is 507 kr a month for a kitchen and 140 kr a month for the security door, and has been agreed with the Stockholm Studenthyresgästers Förening, SSF, (Stockholm’s Student Tenant Association).
