Thanks for your time with us!
We hope you enjoyed your stay with us at Stockholms studentbostäder and we wish you the best of luck in the future. Below you will find important information before your move. Thank you for your time with us and good luck with the move!
Things to keep in mind before the inspection of your home
Once you have terminated your rental agreement, your House Caretaker will notify you with a date for an inspection.
At inspection, we will make an assessment on whether the wear and tear in your home is normal considering how long you have lived there. If the House Caretaker finds that it exceeds what is normal wear and tear, including unusual colour schemes (i.e. regarding wall paint or wallpaper), you may be liable to pay the costs of repairing or restoring the home.
It is not necessary for you to attend the inspection. Your House Caretaker will enter with an service key if you are not at home.
If you still want to participate during the inspection but the date you have been given does not suit you, please contact your House Caretaker to agree on another date for inspection.
Your home does not have to be cleaned or emptied on furniture during the inspection, however, the following should be considered:
- Keep the walls free of furniture as much as possible.
- All equipment such as doors, hat racks, curtain rails, etc. must be in the home at the inspection.
You will show the home for the new tenant
When a housing offer to rent your home has been sent to a new student, they receive your contact details and they may contact you and ask to be shown around. According to your rental agreement, you are obliged to show the home to the new tenant. It is up to you and the new tenant to agree on when.
Report and update your new address
When you move, you need to report a change of address to the Swedish Tax Agency so that your address is correct in the population register. Report your change of address in advance or no later than one week after you have moved. The Swedish Tax Agency spreads your new address to many authorities and companies, but if you wish to have other mail forwarded, you can order it from Swedish address change.
Cancel your broadband and other subscriptions
Before moving out, remember to cancel or move your subscriptions for your broadband, phone, electricity (if you have your own subscription), home insurance etc.
Restore your home to its original state
When you move out, your home should have been restored to its original state. If you, for example, have installed a mirror wall or similar, plugs should be removed, and the holes should be re-filled and if necessary painted over.
Please contact your House Caretaker if you need advice on how to restore your home to its original state.
Empty and clean your home and storage room thoroughly
When you leave your home, it must be thoroughly cleaned and in good condition. If you have a storage room it has to be clean and emptied as well. If you live in a student room with a shared kitchen, you need to make sure that your shelves in the food cupboard, fridge and freezer are also cleaned. Make sure to bring all your belongings with you in connection with your moving out.
If you want to book a final cleaning, you can read more about our offer here.
Please note! If your home has not been adequately cleaned and emptied, we will charge you SEK 1,500 for on-call cleaning plus a cleaning fee that is charged by the hour.
Download our brochure Time to move out to make sure that you have cleaned thoroughly.
Return the keys no later than 12:00
All keys must be returned to your House Caretaker’s office no later than 12:00 (noon) the day after your rental agreement ends. If that day is during a weekend or public holiday, you return your keys on the following weekday. If you move out earlier, we would appreciate if you return the keys as early as possible.
Please leave your keys in the key box at your House Caretaker’s office. There is also a key box located at Medicinaren.
Please note! If all keys are not returned in time, we will have to change the lock and consequently charge you for the cost.
If you have borrowed keys from the local tenants’ association, these must be returned directly to their representative.
