Study Review – Tenancy Review
To ensure that all our tenants meet the housing requirements, we carry out a study review, which we call a tenancy review. The review is conducted once each semester: during the autumn semester in October and during the spring semester in April. We also carry out random checks outside the regular tenancy review period. This means that you must always be able to demonstrate that you meet our housing requirements, regardless of when you moved in.
During the tenancy review, we check that you:
- are a member of an SSCO-affiliated Student Union
- have completed at least 15 ECTS credits, or equivalent, during the previous semester at an SSCO-affiliated institution
- are registered for at least 15 ECTS credits, or equivalent, during the current semester
We also accept preparatory education credits (FUP), which are supplementary courses at upper secondary school level.
Credits counted towards the spring semester must be reported between 16 February and 15 September.
Credits counted towards the autumn semester must be reported between 16 September and 15 February.
How the tenancy review works
When the tenancy review begins, you will receive information by email and can log in to My Pages to view your status.
We perform a single check against Ladok to see whether you have at least 15 ECTS credits reported. If fewer than 15 ECTS credits have been reported, you will need to verify your studies by submitting supporting documents.
On My Pages, you can see what you need to do if your tenancy review has not been approved.
Approved tenancy review
If your status is Approved, your tenancy review has been approved and you do not need to do anything further.
Tenancy review not approved
If your tenancy review has not been approved, you need to submit the required documentation according to the information provided on My Pages.
If your tenancy review has not been approved but you still meet our study requirements, you need to submit the requested documents by downloading a PDF transcript from Ladok, or equivalent documentation, and uploading it to My Pages.
If the required credits or dates are not clearly shown in the Ladok documentation, you must obtain a certificate from your institution confirming that you meet the study requirements. The certificate must be issued on the institution’s official letterhead and signed by an authorised representative of the institution.
If you are a PhD student, you can find the certificate template here.
Please note that you must be an active PhD student. We do not accept pre-doctoral or postdoctoral students.
If you are completing a master’s thesis over two semesters, you can find the certificate template here.
If your Student Union membership is not registered with us, you need to contact your Student Union.
What happens after the tenancy review period?
After the tenancy review period has ended, we close the review and the option to upload certificates on My Pages is removed. Notices of termination will then be sent to everyone whose status has not been approved.
If your tenancy review is not approved during the autumn semester, you must move out no later than the end of February.
If your tenancy review is not approved during the spring semester, you must move out no later than the end of August.
If a random tenancy review is not approved, we will always send a notice of termination at least three months before the move-out date.
If we terminate your tenancy agreement, you will be blocked from registering interest in new accommodation until six months after the end date of your tenancy agreement.
Are you currently on a free term?
If so, you have received an email and a message on My Pages explaining what applies to your specific situation.
Exemptions
You can apply for an exemption from the study requirements and Student Union membership requirement if, for example, you are on parental leave or have medical or social reasons.
